MOSCOW, April 3 The cost of building a bridge that would connect Sakhalin with the mainland is 300 billion rubles, and the same amount will be required to create approaches to it, Governor of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko told Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During a video conference meeting with Limarenko, Putin asked how much a bridge to the mainland might ultimately cost.
“»The numbers were different, but it was called this: 300 billion (rubles) for the bridge and 300 billion (rubles) for the approaches… The bridge can be made through a concession. If we consider that the approaches are the development of the territory, because the approaches do not pay off» , — said Limarenko.
According to the head of state, the approaches and interchanges will cost more than the bridge itself.
