KOSTROMA, April 3 Manufacturing industries in the Kostroma region increased production volumes by 13.4%, the regional administration reports.

Positive dynamics are facilitated by effective management decisions and government support measures taken at the federal and regional levels, experts say.
In particular, in the region, indicators increased in such areas as the production of medicines and materials used for medical purposes (an increase of 4.3 times), the production of vehicles and equipment (an increase of 1.8 times), repair and installation of machinery and equipment (increase by 67.8%), metallurgical production (increase by 65.4%), production of tobacco products (increase by 59.1%), printing activities and copying of information media (increase by 37.8%).
The production of rubber and plastic products, textiles, beverages, vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, the volume of wood processing and the production of wood and cork products increased by almost a third. The production of paper and paper products, furniture, food production, chemicals and chemical products also showed positive dynamics.
An increase in production was also shown by mining (by 13.9%) and industries related to housing and communal services. In the raw materials sector in the Kostroma region, the volume of production of granules, crumbs and powder, pebbles, and gravel increased by 42.8%.
