The new version differed from the standard crossover only in its decor. A special SUV is offered only with an internal combustion engine, while the standard model also comes in the form of a hybrid with a proprietary e-Power installation.
The American Nissan Rogue has already undergone restyling. But the global X-Trail, which replaced the generation, launched later, so the “world” crossover does not yet have a new design. Nevertheless, in some places the brand decided to invigorate demand by expanding the range of trim levels for its SUV: the off-road Nissan X-Trail N-Trek is presented in Australia. Note that the previous local crossover also had a version of the same name. By the way, the official photos clearly show a left-hand drive X-Trail N-Trek. This means that either this version will appear in other countries, or it is already being sold somewhere else, although we have not found a separate release dedicated to the special version.

Be that as it may, the Nissan X-Trail N-Trek intended for Australia received a more impressive front bumper with new diode fog lights, and a protective “plate” appeared on the rear. The massive V-shaped edging of the radiator grille was made black (it is chrome on the standard crossover), but it is still “propped up” by a thinner shiny insert. The exterior mirror housings, door handles and roof are also painted black. In addition, the X-Trail N-Trek received 18-inch wheels of the original design.

The interior features artificial leather upholstery “with water-resistant properties.” The list of equipment also includes dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch virtual instrument panel and a similarly sized tablet multimedia system, a head-up display and a set of electronic assistants.
The “off-road” Nissan X-Trail N-Trek is offered to Australians with a 2.5 naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol (184 hp) and a CVT. The five-seater crossover has front-wheel drive, the seven-seater has all-wheel drive. In other configurations, the local X-Trail also comes in the form of a hybrid with an e-Power installation: the 1.5 turbo engine is not connected to the wheels, it works only as a generator, while the wheels are rotated by an electric motor.
