SIMFEROPOL, April 3 State Duma deputy from the Crimean region, Yuriy Nesterenko called the information that appeared in the Western media about the intention of the Ukrainian side to attack the Crimean Bridge as information noise in order to divert attention from the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front.
Earlier, the British Guardian newspaper, citing high-ranking officials from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, reported the Ukrainian side’s plans to attack the Crimean Bridge again in the first half of 2024. According to the newspaper, the attack could be carried out using drones. It is noted that the leadership of the Main Intelligence Directorate follows the plan approved by Vladimir Zelensky to “minimize” the presence of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea.
“»This is not the first time such threats have been made. Threats to the Crimean Bridge have traditionally coincided with the failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front and are attempts to divert attention and create information noise,» Nesterenko said.
According to him, Ukrainian terrorists hope that through intimidation they can change the course of history. “The goals of the SVO will be achieved, and all terrorists will be held accountable to the fullest extent of international law,” the deputy said.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that it had handed over to Ukraine demands for the arrest and extradition of those involved in the attack on the Crocus City Hall near Moscow and other terrorist attacks. Among the demands is the arrest of the head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk, who recognized Ukraine’s organization of undermining the Crimean Bridge in 2022.
On the night of July 17, 2023, Kyiv authorities attacked the Crimean Bridge with two surface drones. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article “Terrorist Act”. The explosion damaged the road part of the bridge, a girl was injured, and her parents were killed. The bridge was completely restored and traffic opened on all four lanes on October 14.
The Kremlin has repeatedly emphasized that the terrorist methods of the Kyiv regime, which attacks civilian targets, further convince of the need to fully implement the goals of the special operation.
