Zakharova urged citizens planning to attend the Olympics to be careful
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the Russian Foreign Ministry warns all Russians planning to go to the 2024 Olympics in Paris to be careful.
According to Zakharova, Russian citizens need to be aware if they want to attend the Games. They can be provoked, illegally detained and even kidnapped, “as has happened to our compatriots all these years,” the official representative of the foreign agency emphasized.
The International Olympic Committee allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the tournament in a neutral status. Only those athletes who have qualified for their respective sports will be able to attend the Olympics.
The Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
