MOSCOW, April 4 A crew of the Grad MLRS from the Vostok group of forces destroyed in one salvo several American M777 howitzers hidden in a hangar in the southern Donetsk direction , the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Thursday.
«»During the combat work, a crew of the Grad MLRS under the command of a serviceman with the call sign «Countryman» hit a hangar of Ukrainian nationalists located in the rear area. The UAV operators not only confirmed the accurate hit of the rockets, but also reported the destruction of several at once US-made M777 howitzers located in this shelter,” the department said.
It was added that for the successful completion of the combat mission, the personnel of the Grad MLRS crew were presented with state awards.
Crews of the BM-21 «Grad» multiple launch rocket systems of the artillery units of the army corps of the «Vostok» group of troops daily carry out tasks of inflicting fire damage on manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also provide fire support assault and motorized rifle units in the southern Donetsk direction of the Northern Military District.
Each Grad combat vehicle carries a package of 40 rockets with a firing range of up to 40 km.
