< strong>MOSCOW, April 8The situation with the fish stock in the North is critical, efforts must be made to reproduce, said the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“»There (in the North — ed.) there is a really bad situation (with fish stock — ed.)… It is not changing, but it is at a critical level. Efforts really need to be made there, and it is clear that reproduction of whitefishes takes quite a long time,” Shestakov said.
He recalled the program until 2040, which Rosrybolovstvo developed jointly with the Academy of Sciences and the regions on behalf of the president at a meeting with young scientists at Sirius. According to Shestakov, its financing will go within the framework of the national project “Clean Water”, which will begin in 2025.
«Organizational measures are currently underway, changes in certain methods will take place, monitoring. And we assume that direct funding for the construction of new plants and for increasing production volumes will be in this national project,» the head of the department added.
