Russian tea was banned in Belarus due to the high content of microorganisms
Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Tarasenko signed a ban on the sale of bagged tea from Russia. Now Belarusians will not be able to buy tea of the “Gita” and “Princess Kandy” brands due to the high content of pathogenic microorganisms, writes Kommersant.
The remains of unsold products will be confiscated throughout Belarus, the Telegram channel says ministry.
The Russian company Orimi is listed as the manufacturer of the product. At the same time, the Belarusian department clarified that the Russian company was notified that the microbiological norm in tea bags was exceeded. Russian suppliers will review storage and transportation processes to prove the competitiveness and safety of the goods. As soon as the Belarusian Ministry of Health receives documentary evidence of the changes, the ban can be lifted.
The Orimi company produces tea under the brands “Princess of Java”, “Princess of Kandy”, “Pearl of the Nile”, “Gita” Greenfield , Tess, as well as Jockey and Jardin coffee.
