A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the Kurgan region. According to the forecast of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the flood period, 62 settlements, 4,300 houses, 5,550 household plots, 600 summer cottages may be flooded in the region, and 18,718 people may fall into the emergency zone.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as of Sunday morning, 304 residential buildings and 473 household plots were flooded in the region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations specified. More than 7.1 thousand people were preventively evacuated due to the flood, 885 people are in temporary accommodation centers.
The peak of the flood in Kurgan is predicted for April 14-15. The water level in the village of Zverinogolovskoye, where the situation was most serious, on Friday began to decrease “by a centimeter or two, going towards Kurgan,” the head of the region noted.
