MOSCOW, April 13. More than 40 Moscow enterprises and organizations are working today in the Russian rocket and space industry, developing unique technologies and devices, said Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
“Moscow is the most important center of the Russian rocket and space industry. The industry employs more than 40 metropolitan enterprises and various scientific and technical centers, laboratories and research institutes, employing over 30 thousand people. These are engineers and designers, developers and other specialists in related fields, thanks to which almost everything is created in the city: from ultra-light cables to launch vehicles and components for spacecraft,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, his words were quoted by the press service of the DIPP.
He noted that the capital’s industry is successfully enhancing the legacy of its predecessors who created space stations and launch vehicles, energy and life support systems for astronauts.
Thus, the Moscow State Space Research and Production Center named after M. V. Khrunichev is the lead developer and manufacturer of launch vehicles of the Angara family. The Angara-A5 heavy rocket successfully launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome on Thursday. The control system of the heavy-class launch vehicle was made in Moscow by the Research and Production Center for Automation and Instrumentation named after Academician N. A. Pilyugin.
The capital's Spetskabel plant also contributes to the development of the industry, which produces cables that are superior to foreign analogues and capable of operating in the extreme temperature conditions of space. At the Moscow Engineering Center «ASK» they test the electronic component base for industry products in the components of ground-based simulators for preparing cosmonauts for flight, as well as many other devices. Video servers and video analytics modules for security systems for a number of industry facilities are supplied by the capital's Vipax. And a comfortable indoor microclimate is ensured by the systems of the Moscow Ventilation Factory.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the unique developments for space created in Moscow.
Moscow is a city with developed production. There are more than 4.2 thousand industrial sites in the capital, employing 725 thousand people.
