MOSCOW, April 13 Kazan UNICS basketball players beat Moscow CSKA and for the first time became the winners of the regular championship of the VTB United League.
The final round meeting, held in Kazan, ended with a score of 88:78 (21:27, 24:14, 19:21, 24:16). As part of the Kazan club, Nenad Dimitrievich scored the most points (40). CSKA's top scorer was Melo Trimble (21 points).
The current champion of the VTB United League UNICS finished the championship with 26 victories in 36 matches. CSKA is in second place with 25 wins and 11 losses.
The VTB United League playoffs start on April 22. UNICS will play with one of the play-in winners, the Kazan club will have home-court advantage until the final.
