MOSCOW, April 16 World champion in single skating American figure skater Ilya Malinin attended the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL) between the Washington Capitals and the Boston Bruins; he was present in the stands wearing a sweater with the number of the capital’s captain Alexander Ovechkin.
The meeting took place on Tuesday night in Washington and ended in a victory for the hosts with a score of 2:0. In March, 19-year-old Malinin won world championship gold for the first time in his career. He performed six quadruple jumps in his free program, including a quadruple axel, and also set a world record.

Malinin born in the USA in the family of figure skaters Tatyana Malinina and Roman Skornyakov. The athletes are natives of Russia, in the 1990s they began representing Uzbekistan, and have lived in the USA since 1998.
