MOSCOW, April 18 Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he is confident that the Crimeans will support Sergei Aksenov in the matter of continuing to work at the head of the Republic of Crimea.
The President spoke with Aksenov via video link on Thursday. The head of Crimea asked the president about the possibility of continuing to work in this post.
“Sergei Valerievich, you are doing well. Well, not everything, but you are solving all the main problems. I am sure that the Crimeans will support you. I wish you good luck,” — Putin responded.
Elections for regional heads this year will be held on a single voting day in 19 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. At the same time, in three of them — in Crimea, Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria — indirect elections will take place, that is, the highest officials there will be elected by legislative assemblies.
