The US Congress explained what the approval of aid to Ukraine would entail

MOSCOW, April 21. Republican Senator from Wisconsin Ron Johnson explained why the new aid package to Ukraine and other countries is unprofitable for the United States, The Hill writes.

“We are going to continue to mortgage and plunder our children's future – over a hundred billion dollars. We spend about 900 billion on defense, but every time there is any defensive action, it seems that we need take additional measures,” he said.

Johnson added that first of all we need to ensure the security of our own borders before spending such sums.

He made his statement shortly before the adoption of a bill to allocate almost $61 billion to Ukraine. After approval by the House of Representatives, the document is sent to the US Senate for consideration. In addition, a bill was also adopted that included a provision for the confiscation of Russia's sovereign assets in favor of Ukraine.

As stated by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the decision of the House of Representatives to allocate additional assistance to Kyiv was expected, it will further ruin Ukraine and will enrich the States.
