Asean Daily: a tourist posing for a photo on the edge of a volcano crater fell down
A tragic incident occurred on the famous active volcano Ijen in Indonesia that claimed the life of a tourist — she fell into a gorge while trying to pose for a photo on the edge of the crater .
The victim, identified as 31-year-old Huang Lihong, was visiting the popular tourist spot accompanied by her husband, 32-year-old Zhang Yong, Asean daily reported. It is reported that during the excursion, a woman posed for a photograph and tragically fell into the gorge.
The incident occurred despite the guide's warnings about dangerous conditions near the volcano's crater. It is alleged that the tourist was trying to find the best point for shooting, and accidentally tripped over her long clothes, which led to her fatal fall.
Local authorities quickly responded to the emergency and sent an evacuation team to retrieve the body of the deceased. After a complex operation that lasted almost two hours, rescuers found her at a depth of about 75 meters in the gorge.
