The Moscow City Court sentenced in absentia six defendants in the case of the attack on the Rossotrudnichestvo building in Kyiv in 2018.
As the press service of the court told Mediazona, Evgeniy Karas was sentenced to nine years in prison, Sergei Mazur — eight, Bogdan Khodakovsky and Sergei Filimonov — seven and a half, Andrei Lozova and Alexander Voitko — seven.
The case was initiated under the article on an attack on an institution that enjoys international protection with the aim of provoking war (Part 2 of Article 360 of the Criminal Code). Five people were also found guilty of desecration of the flag (Article 329 of the Criminal Code, up to one year in prison).
The Investigative Committee calls the defendants members of the nationalist organizations C14 and “Tradition and Order.” At the same time, for example, Filimonov is a member of the Honor organization; he is also known as the leading actor in the film “Rhinoceros” by Oleg Sentsov.
On February 17, 2018, men entered the Rossotrudnichestvo building, poured paint on the walls there, wrote “Death of the FSB” and “Freedom for Sentsov«, and also burned the Russian flag. The next day, during a far-right march, the building was stoned and its windows were broken.
