BEIJING, April 28The factory in Shanghai is the most highly efficient Tesla plant, said company CEO Elon Musk, as quoted by China Central Television, at a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang in Beijing
«The Tesla Gigafactory in Shanghai is Tesla's most highly efficient factory, all thanks to the hard work and wisdom of the Chinese team. Tesla is ready to further deepen cooperation with China and achieve greater and more mutually beneficial results,» Musk said. 
< br />Reuters previously reported, citing two people familiar with the matter, that Musk wants to meet with senior Chinese officials to discuss the deployment of software for fully autonomous cars in China and to seek permission to transfer data collected in China abroad to training autonomous driving algorithms.
The American company Tesla Motors, led by Musk, was founded in 2003 as a developer and manufacturer of electric vehicles and technologies related to them. In addition to electric vehicles, the company produces batteries and electric motors using its own technology and sells them to other automobile companies, in particular Toyota and Daimler.
Gigafactory Shanghai is Tesla's largest car production facility; the Chinese market is the second largest for the electric vehicle manufacturer after the American market.
