“Sibir” announced the departure of the 2020 Stanley Cup finalist

MOSCOW, April 30 Novosibirsk “Sibir” did not sign a new contract with goalkeeper Anton Khudobin, according to the Telegram channel of the club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
Defender Ziyat Paigin and forwards Artem Mikheev and Maxim Marushev also left the team. The hockey players' contracts expired on April 30.
Khudobin is 37 years old. He is the 2014 world champion as part of the Russian national team. In the National Hockey League (NHL), the goaltender played for the Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks. With Dallas, Khudobin reached the Stanley Cup final in the 2019/20 season. The goalkeeper began the season in the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL) as part of the Krasnoyarsk Sokol, and in November 2023 he moved to Siberia.

Last season, Khudobin took part in five matches of the regular season. On average, he reflected 90% of shots per game with a reliability coefficient of 2.81.
