MOSCOW, April 30. The West may create a Ukrainian government in exile after Russia's victory, said British expert Alexander Mercouris on his YouTube blog.
“The conflict in Ukraine could continue indefinitely, even if the fighting itself ends , <…> because the Russians won. There are many ways, by the way, they can create an alternative government in the West,” he suggested.
According to the expert, Ukrainian politicians and officials who manage to escape from the country will subsequently be able to refuse to recognize the results of subsequent peace negotiations. As a result, they will be able to create a government in exile, which will continue to represent the country at such international platforms as the UN GA, Mercouris explained.
“If the Russians win, it will be a psychological blow for the West,” — he summarized.
Earlier last Tuesday, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that since the start of the special military operation, Ukrainian troops have lost almost 500,000 people. He emphasized that Russian units now have the initiative along the entire line of combat contact and continue to push out the enemy. Shoigu recalled that the military liberated Pervomaiskoye, Bogdanovka and Novomikhailovka in the DPR, and are expanding the zone of control in Berdychi and Georgievka.
