TASHKENT, April 30 The Russian airline Utair began operating weekly flights from Tyumen to Samarkand from April 30, the press service of the Samarkand airport reports on the Telegram channel.
“As part of the cooperation between Air Marakanda and Utair, direct flights between Samarkand and the city in Western Siberia of Russia – Tyumen have been launched for the first time,” the statement says.
According to the press service, flights will operate on Tuesdays, ticket prices start from $180.
Previously, the airport reported that Russian airlines Pobeda, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines and Utair will increase the number of flights from Samarkand, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk.
In September 2021, Uzbekistan Airports JSC (manages all airports in Uzbekistan) and Air Marakanda LLC signed an agreement to modernize Samarkand airport on a PPP basis. The project, worth more than $80 million, provides for the comprehensive development of the airport, the construction of airport infrastructure, as well as its operation. The EPC contractor for the modernization is Enter Engineering (registered in Singapore).
