Associate Professor Ivanova-Shvets clarified that WWII veterans will receive payments in May
In In May, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and other pensioners associated with Victory Day receive additional payments. Lyudmila Ivanova-Shvets, Associate Professor of the Department of Human Resource Management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation at the Russian Economic University. G. V. Plekhanova spoke about this in an interview with the Prime agency.
Federal payments starting from 2019 provide that Russian citizens permanently residing in the country, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, who are disabled or WWII, receive 10 thousand rubles annually. In anniversary years, amounts may be higher.
Each region also sets its own payments for various categories of citizens, including children of war, concentration camp prisoners, home front workers and others. The amount of assistance should be clarified at the local branch of the Social Fund.
From May 1, pensions will be increased for pensioners over 80 years of age with a certain length of service in various sectors of the economy. The amount of payments depends on the length of service and the employer’s contributions to the Social Fund of Russia. Ivanova-Shvets noted that in April all pensioners will receive two pensions due to the May holidays — one at the beginning of the month and the other at the end of April.
