Putin approved the agreement on customs transit of the EAEU and third parties

MOSCOW, May 2. Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the signing of an agreement on a unified customs transit system of the EAEU and third parties, the corresponding order was published on the legal information Internet portal .
“Accept the proposal of the government of the Russian Federation to sign an agreement on a unified customs transit system of the Eurasian Economic Union and a third party (third parties). Allow the Ministry of Finance of Russia, during negotiations on the signing of this agreement, to make changes to its draft, approved by the government of the Russian Federation, that are not fundamental character,” the order says.

“Consider it appropriate to sign the agreement provided for by this order at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council,” the document states.

Previously, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) stated that the practical implementation of the provisions of the agreement on customs transit will simplify and optimize the procedure for transporting goods, both by minimizing the actions of regulatory services and by reducing overhead costs.
It was noted that this will be achieved through the use of a single transit declaration in the form of an electronic document, uniform enforcement of obligations to pay customs duties, taxes, special, anti-dumping, countervailing duties, and the use of certain special simplifications. In addition, the use of navigation seals to track the transportation of goods, as well as mutual recognition of decisions of customs authorities, will help achieve these goals, the EEC indicated.
