Serial production of the new Lancia Ypsilon hatchback has started. Prices are known

Pre-orders have already begun to be collected by brand dealers in Italy, and you can buy both an option with all-electric equipment and with a hybrid installation.

A full presentation of the next generation Ypsilon took place in mid-February of this year. Stellantis believes that this new product should mark a “renaissance” of the brand for the large European market. Subsequently, the line of this brand will include models for which it is planned to revive the names Aurelia and Delta.

Now the company has announced that mass production of the new Ypsilon has started at the Stellantis plant in Figuelas (province of Zaragoza, Spain). Here it is produced together with the Opel Corsa generation F hatchback.

At the same time, the company announced the start of collecting pre-orders for the subcompact hatchback, for now we are talking about dealers in Italy. The first cars will reach dealers next month. Later, sales will begin in Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and in 2025 the Italian brand will return to the German market.

The new Lancia Ypsilon five-door is available in three trim levels — base, LX and top-end Edizione Cassina. The cost of the hybrid version starts on the domestic market at 24,900 euros (equivalent to almost 2.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and for the “electric train” they ask from 34,900 euros (approximately 3.4 million rubles).

Versions with a hybrid “filling” have several visual differences: we are talking, in particular, about four additional air intakes integrated into the front bumper (the “green” modification has four similar plugs). Also on the list of differences is one oval-shaped exhaust pipe, built into the lower part of the rear bumper near the right side of the diffuser. The hybrid also has a set of original 17-inch alloy wheels.

The new Ypsilon is based on the modular CMP platform, on which other current B-class models of the auto giant Stellantis are based. The hatchback is equipped with a mild-hybrid power plant, which is based on a 101-horsepower 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine. It works in tandem with a 48-volt booster and an electric motor integrated into a six-speed e-DCT automatic transmission. This hatchback takes 9.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h, and its top speed is 190 km/h.

The completely “green” modification has more powerful equipment. The output of the single electric motor mounted on the front axle is 156 hp. The system also includes a traction battery with a capacity of 51 kWh. The maximum range on one charge for the electric train is 403 km (when calculated using the WLTP cycle).

Earlier, the Lancia brand confirmed that in 2025 the family will be replenished with a fully electric “charged” version of the Ypsilon HF. It is known that the hot hatch will share technology with the Abarth 600e sports crossover: the output of its electric motor will be 240 hp. For the first “hundred” such a five-door will need 5.8 seconds.
