MOSCOW, May 2Russian manufacturers are ready for complete import substitution of veterinary antibiotics; in recent years, domestic companies have significantly increased production, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported on its website.
«»Domestic manufacturers are ready for complete import substitution of antibiotics for use in veterinary medicine. In 2023 alone, 28 vaccines for the prevention of animal diseases, 31 antibiotics and 33 other veterinary drugs were registered in Russia,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the press release, in recent years, domestic biopharmaceutical companies have significantly increased the production of veterinary drugs. This was also facilitated by the modernization of production sites, the development of new high-tech drugs and the expansion of their range.
It is reported that in the first two months of this year alone, the volume of production of Russian veterinary drugs almost doubled compared to last year. The full-scale launch of production facilities in the near future will allow a multiple increase in production volumes while maintaining the assortment structure.
