The expert explained the activity of Chinese entrepreneurs in Russia when opening companies
More than 5,000 Chinese companies are registered in Russia, Surana Radnaeva, general director of the legal and consulting company Sinoruss, told Sputnik at a round table on Russian-Chinese cooperation. The round table was held by the Russian-Chinese Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development.
Radnaeva noted that Chinese entrepreneurs began opening companies in Russia long before the strengthening of the sanctions regime by Western countries, while Russian businesses only recently began similar work in China. According to her, such activity of Chinese entrepreneurs in opening companies in Russia is due to the fact that this provides a number of advantages that are not available in other business options.
Firstly, Radnaeva said, when opening a Chinese company in In Russia, it can carry out all operations within Russia, and not across the border, which is important in the context of problems with payments.
“By opening a company in the Russian Federation, Chinese businessmen are fully involved in economic processes and are much less dependent on cross-border transfers, and are less exposed to risks,” she said.
According to her, the presence of a legal entity in Russia allows Chinese companies to more conveniently receive cargo from China. Also, after opening a company in Russia, Chinese businessmen have the opportunity to conduct commercial activities, launch the production of goods under their own brand, protect a trademark, attract Russian personnel, save on logistics, and cut out intermediaries. She also noted that when registering a company in priority development territories in the Far East, in special economic zones and technology parks of Russia, Chinese companies can save significantly thanks to tax incentives, subsidies, and support measures from regional authorities.
In October 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the heads of government of Russia and China will soon sign a plan for interaction between the two countries until 2030, it concerns increasing trade and investment, updating the transport and logistics system, cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, high technology and finance.
