The Prosecutor General's Office recognized the «Committee of Ingush Independence» founded by the Ingush diaspora in Turkey as an «undesirable organization.» Today, the Ministry of Justice included the organization in the appropriate register.
Representatives of the movement advocating the secession of Ingushetia are participating in the events of the “Forum of Free Peoples of Russia” — this is a project of ex-State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev. In March 2023, it was also declared “undesirable.”
The “Committee of Ingush Independence” was created at the beginning of last year, the first congress of its representatives was held in Istanbul, where they adopted a declaration of supporters of the independence of the Ingush people. The goals in the document were called “restoration of the sovereignty of the Ingush Republic and preparation for secession from Russia.”
In January 2024, the Ministry of Justice declared the “Committee of Ingush Independence” a “foreign agent.” The decision was explained by the fact that the organization “calls for the violation of the territorial integrity” of Russia and “forms a negative image” of the country.
