Three Russians were arrested in Finland on suspicion of exporting dual-use goods

A court in the Finnish city of Kajaani arrested three Russian citizens on suspicion of exporting dual-use goods abroad. This was reported by the Yle agency.

On April 30, the police reported “an operation” that took place at the Kainuu Vocational College and in the dormitory. Then two 25-year-old students and an 18-year-old student of this school were detained. The preventive measure was chosen for them today at a closed meeting.

Investigator Kimmo Tuulenkari did not disclose details about which dual-use goods the students exported from Finland and to which countries, saying only that the case was related “to export, transit » In such cases, as Yle notes, we are usually talking about electronics, sensors or lasers.

According to the police, the suspects were exporting items from Finland because “there is a demand for them in the country or countries of destination.” Tuulenkari noted that the criminal case has nothing to do with the activities of the college itself.
