MOSCOW, May 6. Vladimir Putin came to the Government House the day before his inauguration, met with members of the Cabinet of Ministers and thanked them for their work.
“I came today to thank you for your joint work over the previous years,” he said president.

He recalled that the activities of the current government began in the context of the fight against a pandemic, which became a difficult test that was passed with dignity.

In 2022, Russia had to take extraordinary measures to protection of the residents of Donbass, whom Kyiv mocked for eight years, Putin continued. Moscow has become convinced that the problem cannot be resolved through peaceful means.

He noted that people living in the regions reunited with Russia always considered it their historical homeland, and she considered these people her own.
After the start of the special operation, economic aggression was launched against Moscow — they wanted to lead to unemployment and the closure of enterprises, but it was not possible, reminded the president.

"Last year, the Russian economy grew at a rate higher than the world’s. According to this indicator, we are ahead not only of the leading countries of the European Union, but also of all the states of the so-called “Big Seven,” Putin said.

In turn, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that unprecedented sanctions mobilized members of the government. He also thanked the president for his attention and trust.

Putin emphasized that in general, under the current cabinet, Russia was looking for answers to historical challenges and successfully overcoming them. In all areas of work, it was possible to achieve significant results and gain a good pace of development.
““One political cycle ends, another political cycle begins, but work in the interests of Russia, Russian, Russian and all other peoples of the Russian Federation does not stop,” said President.
He recalled that the formation of a new government will take place in the near future, and instructed to do everything necessary to ensure that there are no pauses in the work of the executive branch during this period.

On Tuesday, May 7, after the inauguration of the elected head of state, the government will legally relinquish its powers and its members will assume acting status. The Cabinet of Ministers, headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, has been working since January 16, 2020.
