The Zaozersky garrison military of the Murmansk region imposed two years in a colony-settlement on military doctor Denis Vasiliev, who refused to participate in hostilities. The telegram channel “Military Lawyers” writes about this. The verdict was handed down in October 2023.
The court found him guilty in the case of failure to comply with an order during the period of mobilization (Part 2.1 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code).
The case against the doctor is the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Pechenga garrison was initiated in February 2023.
Vasiliev graduated from the Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg in 2022 — in the summer he was assigned to the military unit of the Northern Fleet. After this, the lieutenant of the medical service submitted his resignation, but due to the start of “partial mobilization” he was not considered.
According to human rights activist Pavel Chikov, Vasiliev was offered to transfer to a unit in Franz Josef Land, an archipelago in the Northern Arctic Ocean. “Before the order for transfer was received, the unit received another order — to leave for the combat zone, which the doctor refused to carry out due to personal convictions,” human rights activists explained.
