The meeting, which took place in Sunrise, ended with a score of 6:1 (0:1, 3:0, 3:0) in favor of the home team. For the Panthers, Alexander Barkov scored a double (30th and 51st minutes), and Steven Lorenz (22), Gustav Forsling (40), Eetu Luostarinen (42) and Brandon Montour (52) also scored. For Boston, Charlie Coyle (13) scored the only goal.

Florida's Russian forward Vladimir Tarasenko made two shots on target and made four power techniques. Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov made one shot on goal and scored one hit. Florida goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 15 shots out of 16.
