President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree today, which relieved Major General Viktor Gulevich from the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces — First Deputy Minister of Defense.
A message appeared on the website of the President of Belarus that Gulevich was transferred to the reserve due to his age and he retained the right to wear a military uniform and insignia.
At the same time, Viktor Gulevich is only 54 years old. He was awarded the rank of major general in 2020, and in March 2021 he was appointed chief of the General Staff. He graduated from the Moscow Higher Military Command School, as well as the Military Academy in Belarus.
