MOSCOW, May 10. New York Rangers hockey players defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in the third game of the second round series of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The meeting, which took place in Raleigh, ended with the guests winning in overtime with a score of 3:2 (0:1, 1:0, 1:1, 1:0). For the Rangers, Chris Kreider (29th minute) and Alexis Lafreniere (47th minute) scored goals in regulation time. The author of the winning goal in overtime was Russian striker Artemy Panarin (62). Jake Guentzel (11) and Russian striker Andrei Svechnikov (59) scored for the home team.

Andrey Svechnikov also scored one assist. Hurricanes defenseman Dmitry Orlov had one assist. Hurricanes goalkeeper Pyotr Kochetkov played his first game in the 2024 Stanley Cup and stopped 22 out of 25 shots. Carolina forward Evgeny Kuznetsov returned to the lineup and did not score any goals.
The score in the series up to four wins became 3-0 in favor of the Rangers. The fourth match of the confrontation will take place in Raleigh on the night of May 12, Moscow time.
