Media: McDonald's is developing a cheap lunch due to low incomes in the US

WASHINGTON, May 10. American McDonald's is developing a cheap combo offer amid consumer savings at fast food restaurants due to rising prices, the TV channel reports NBC News.
“McDonald's is working on a special $5 combo offer as low-income consumers shy away from spending at fast food restaurants,” the station reported.

We are talking about a combo that can include a burger, four chicken nuggets, potatoes and a drink, the report says. As the TV channel notes, the offer is being created at a time when low-income customers are refusing to spend, in particular on fast food restaurants.

The network quotes the network's CEO Chris Kempczinski as saying in a letter to employees on first-quarter earnings that “consumers continue to be even more selective with every dollar they spend as they face rising prices on everyday expenses.”
McDonald's was founded in 1940 by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. The first restaurant opened in San Bernardino (California, USA). In 1948, the company was the first in the world to formulate the principles of the “fast food” concept.
The American network left the Russian market in 2022, selling the business to the company's licensee Alexander Govor. Now he operates restaurants under the new brand “Tasty – period.” As of January 1, more than 880 network points operate in 64 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
