Czech President Pavel proposed that Ukraine exchange NATO membership for security guarantees
During the negotiations, Ukraine could discuss Kyiv’s refusal to join NATO in exchange for security guarantees. This statement was made by Czech President Petr Pavel in an interview with the Austrian publication Die Presse.
“Subsequently, negotiations can be held, because Ukraine’s membership in NATO can be exchanged for something. For example, for [security] guarantees when it comes to It’s about a military presence,” said the head of the Czech state.
In addition, during the interview, Pavel believes that Ukraine will not be able to return all the lost territories that are now under Russian control. He believes that the citizens of the country themselves also have similar thoughts.
