MOSCOW, May 11. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin proposed appointing acting Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev as Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation instead of Victoria Abramchenko; he will oversee, among other things, agricultural and environmental issues, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
““In connection with the transition to a new place of work, Victoria Abramchenko should be replaced as Deputy Prime Minister by Dmitry Patrushev, who held the position of head of the Ministry of Agriculture,” the message says.
As the press secretary of the Prime Minister Boris Belyakov commented, Patrushev’s candidacy was proposed as the new curator of such industries as agriculture, agro-industrial complex and ecology “in connection with Victoria Abramchenko’s transfer to another place of work.”
“He (Patrushev — ed.) has the necessary knowledge and experience. Before entering the civil service, he headed Rosselkhozbank for eight years, was on the board of VTB and knows the financial sector well. He is able to ensure the further development of the entrusted sphere,” Belyakov added.
Patrushev was born in 1977 in Leningrad. In 1999-2002 he worked in the Ministry of Transport, from 2004 — in the Foreign Trade Bank (from 2007 — VTB Bank), in 2010-2018 he served as chairman of the board of Rosselkhozbank.
On May 18, 2018, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Before Patrushev, this position was held by Victoria Abramchenko, she coordinated, in particular, the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Roshydromet, Rosvodresursy, Rosleskhoz and Rosnedr, supervised work on the implementation of the national project «Ecology», state policy in the field of agriculture and the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District.
