MOSCOW, May 23. The tenant of a private house in Istra, where eight migrants died during a fire, has been detained, said Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Moscow region headquarters of the RF IC.
“On suspicion of causing death by negligence as a result of a fire in a house in the SNT “Snegir” in the Istra urban district, a 24-year-old citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a tenant of a household, was detained (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” said Vradiy.
According to preliminary data, the man rented the house supposedly for his own residence, but settled illegal migrants in it, added the senior assistant to the head of the Moscow region headquarters of the Investigative Committee.
It is clarified that investigators and criminologists continue to work at the site of the fire , with their participation, the source and possible causes of the fire are established.
«Currently, the tenant of the house has been taken to the investigative authorities for questioning. In addition, the owner of the house, the chairman of SNT and eyewitnesses are being interrogated,” concluded Vradiy.
