MOSCOW, May 23. The Bank of Russia plans to conduct cyber exercises with banks of the EAEU countries in 2024-2025 and practice interaction, including during unauthorized cross-border transactions, should from materials of the Central Bank.
“It is planned to conduct cyber exercises with the banks of the EAEU member states in 2024-2025, during which interaction will be further developed, including during unauthorized cross-border transactions carried out using various payment instruments,” the statement said.
Also Central Bank reported that cyber exercises with colleagues from the national banks of the BRICS countries are planned in 2024. In 2023, the plan and scenario for the event were being prepared, and relevant questionnaires were sent to participants.

It is noted that the Central Bank, within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the central banks of the BRICS and EAEU member countries, is studying the unique experience of its colleagues in regulating and combating fraudsters. “Joint activities are being carried out to improve financial cyber literacy, approaches are being developed to reduce the number of transactions without the consent of clients, countering credit fraud, and combating drops,” the statement said.

In February, the regulator reported that representatives of central banks BRICS countries discussed holding the first joint exercises to repel potential attacks on their information infrastructure. Central Bank head Elvira Nabiullina said in an interview in January that the regulator wants to invite BRICS partners to conduct “cross-border cyber exercises.”
