MOSCOW, May 25. A civilian died during shelling of the village of Dubovoe by Ukrainian troops, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on the Telegram channel .
«Our air defense system worked over Belgorod and the Belgorod region — 15 air targets were shot down on approach to the city <…> As a result of a direct hit in the yard of a private residential property in the village of Dubovoe, a civilian was killed,» wrote he.
According to the head of the region, four more people were injured and are in moderate condition.
As the Ministry of Defense clarified, the Kiev regime attempted to attack the Belgorod region using the RM-70 Vampire MLRS around 19:00 Moscow time. Air defense systems shot down 15 rockets.
On Saturday evening, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also shelled the village of Oktyabrsky in the Belgorod region. A man and a woman died. Ten civilians, including an eight-year-old boy, were wounded by shrapnel and taken to hospitals. One of the victims did not require hospitalization.
In addition, after a direct hit from a shell, a private residential building caught fire, more than 20 households, as well as shopping areas were damaged, Gladkov reported.
Ukrainian troops almost daily strike civilians and infrastructure facilities in the border and central regions of Russia. As President Vladimir Putin said, due to shelling by the enemy army of residential areas of Belgorod, Moscow is forced to create a sanitary security zone.
