MOSCOW, May 25. In March, the European Union increased wine supplies to Russia to the maximum since the end of 2022, as follows from calculations based on European statistics.
So, in March, European exports increased by a quarter in monthly and annual terms — to 26.6 thousand tons. This is the maximum figure since December 2022, when purchases amounted to 30 thousand tons. < br />As in February, Italy became the largest supplier, increasing wine exports to Russia by 27 percent — up to 11.9 thousand tons. Second place is occupied by Lithuania, which increased supplies by 40 percent, to 4.2 thousand tons. Spanish exports jumped 1.6 times, to three thousand tons, which allowed the country to displace Poland from third place.
Poland, which found itself in fourth place, became the only country that significantly reduced wine supplies to Russia — by 24 percent, to two thousand tons. Latvia took fifth place with an 18 percent increase in exports to 1.6 thousand tons.
In addition, after a three-month pause, supplies of wine from Bulgaria began again, although only 25 tons.
