The Investigative Committee reported on the initiation of a criminal case against a resident of the Moscow region for collecting money for an “undesirable” organization (Part 2 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code), and he was detained. As RIA Novosti clarifies, the man is suspected of organizing a fundraiser for the AllatRa public movement.
According to investigators, from August 2023 to February 2024, the detainee collected at least 17 million rubles, which were spent on the activities of the organization. Security officials claim that the suspect, in particular, paid 620 thousand rubles to a printing house for printing the newspaper of the AllatRa movement with a circulation of 160 thousand copies.
The man's house was searched. It is unknown when exactly the court will take a preventive measure against him.
AllatRa is a religious movement founded in Ukraine in 2011. According to his teachings, in the spiritual understanding all people are united, but they are separated by the material principle, creating separate peoples, states and religions. AllatRa participants emphasize that the movement is a social union “operating outside of politics and religion.”
In August 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the activities of AllatRa as “undesirable.” “Since the beginning of the special military operation, a non-governmental organization has been disseminating deliberately false information discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation,” the department’s release says.
