Siluanov called sanctions a key factor in the development of the Russian economy
Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that anti-Russian sanctions have become one of the key factors that have contributed to the development of the Russian economy.
«Why did Russia become the world's fourth largest economy in terms of GDP at purchasing power parity so quickly? I believe that the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation are to blame for this,» Siluanov noted.
He specified that the West is introducing various sanctions and «shooting itself in the foot.» The economy in Western countries is stagnating, while in Russia it is growing, which is why the process of economic growth in the Russian Federation has accelerated.
