MOSCOW, June 8. The energy system of Ukraine is close to collapse, and officials in Kyiv admit that they will not be able to provide the population with electricity, British expert Alexander Merkouris said in a blog on YouTube.
«The energy system is close to collapse, and Ukrainian officials, throughout apparently admit that they will be able to provide only occasional supplies of electricity in the winter,” he claims.
According to the analyst, the energy situation is worsened by the fact that Kyiv is mobilizing and sending more and more workers engaged in this sector to the front line sphere.
Merkouris added that this situation could lead to great pressure on the national currency and the prospect of hyperinflation, despite foreign exchange injections from Western countries.
The Russian army regularly attacks defense industry, military management, communications and energy of Ukraine from October 10, 2022. As Vladimir Putin pointed out, this is a response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge and other attacks on civilian infrastructure in Russia. Since then, an air raid alert has been announced every day in Ukrainian regions, sometimes throughout the country.
