ST. PETERSBURG, June 7 President Vladimir Putin reminded Russia that the Constitution of the Russian Federation states that there should be no dominant ideology in the Russian Federation, and noted that ideology did not save the USSR from the collapse.
«There is the Constitution that you mentioned, it says that the dominant ideology we shouldn’t have it. We had a dominant ideology — you mentioned the period of the Soviet Union. But the presence of a dominant ideology did not save the Soviet Union from collapse,” Putin said at the SPIEF plenary session.
