YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, June 10 Candidate for The current head of the region, Valery Limarenko, has been nominated for the position of governor of the Sakhalin region, the regional branch of the United Russia party reports on the Telegram channel.
“United Russia” nominated Valery Limarenko as a candidate for the post of governor of the Sakhalin region. The decision was made at the regional party conference, which was held on June 10 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk,” the message says.
According to the press service, Valery Limarenko’s candidacy was approved based on the results of a secret ballot. Elections for the head of the region will take place on September 8, 2024.
“Party members also decided to hold the second stage of the conference, at which the party’s election program will be adopted,” the message notes.
Several more municipal-level election campaigns will be held on Sakhalin this year: elections of deputies of the City Duma of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, as well as elections of deputies in the Assemblies of the Nevelsk and Nogliki city districts.
