Director Zhenya Berkovich, accused in the case of the play “Finist Yasnyi Sokol”, was restricted in the pre-trial detention center from transmitting letters. This is reported by her support group.
As Berkovich said, she is told that the correspondence is not censored. She receives “at best 1-2” letters a week. The director's support group asks everyone who sent her letters to leave complaints on the FSIN-Letter service.
Evgenia Berkovich and her colleague Svetlana Petriychuk are accused of justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) because of the play “Finist Yasny Falcon” about the fate of Russian women who marry Islamists and go to Syria. Petriychuk and Berkovich have been in pretrial detention since May 2023.
