The Sovetsky District Court of Omsk fined oppositionist Vladimir Kara-Murza 30 thousand based on the protocol on the absence of “foreign agent” markings in the telegram channel (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). Lawyer Sergei Safronov reported this to the human rights project “For Human Rights”.
The politician took part in the meeting via video link from Omsk IK-6. He refused to admit his guilt and noted that “the legislation on so-called foreign agents cannot be applied,” since it contradicts the Russian Constitution. Lawyer Sergei Safronov said that the defense plans to appeal the court's decision.
This is the third protocol on violation of the law on “foreign agents” that was drawn up in Kara-Murza. In April, an oppositionist was fined 30 thousand rubles for refusing to label posts on social networks. The politician then explained to the court that the publications were made by his team, to which he transmitted the texts through letters.

In December 2023, the oppositionist was fined 50 thousand rubles for failing to submit a report on the activities of a “foreign agent” to the Ministry of Justice while in custody. According to the law, if a person is held accountable for such violations twice in a year, then criminal case.
Vladimir Kara-Murza was detained in April 2022 for the fact that “at the sight of the police he changed his trajectory,” and a report was drawn up against him disobedience to security forces. On the day of his arrest, April 22, 2022, the Ministry of Justice declared the oppositionist a “foreign agent.”
Already in the special detention center, he became a defendant in the case of military “fakes”due to a speech in the House of Representatives of the US state of Arizona. Later, a charge of participation in the activities of an “undesirable organization” , and then — in treason. The first article was charged to him due to the politician’s participation in a round table at the Sakharov Center, the second — due to speeches in Lisbon, Oslo and Washington.
In April 2023, the Moscow City Court sentenced Kara-Murza to 25 years in a penal colony mode.
