DUBNA (Moscow region), June 13. A decision was made to increase funding for the megagrant program to 100 million rubles per year and extend the terms from 3 to 5 years; this horizon can be further expanded, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
“A decision was made to increase the amount of funding to 100 million per year and extend the period, because, as far as I understand, we also met with you and some other colleagues so that the planning horizon was visible. And The solution is this: increase it to 100 million and increase this work from 3 to 5 years with the right to extend it for another 3 years,” Putin said at a meeting with mega-grant recipients and leading scientists. 
Putin added that for some areas of research this may also not be enough.
“I don’t rule out that we can expand this horizon,” the president said.
