An elderly teacher from the Moscow region, Natalya Taranushenko, against whom a criminal case was opened regarding military “fakes” (clause “d” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), left Russia. Her friends told the Agency about this.
As the Astra telegram channel reported, a case was opened against the teacher on June 10. According to the Agency, Taranushenko left Russia two days later — on June 12. Now she is in “one of the non-European countries” and is recovering from “stress and a difficult road.”
The reason for the persecution of the 65-year-old teacher, according to the authors of the Baza telegram channel, was a class hour that she taught in June 2022. On it, Taranushenko said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a violation of international law. In addition, the teacher showed the students several videos from Ukrainian media and talked about the crimes of the Russian military in Bucha.
As acquaintances of Taranushenko told the Agency, the father of one of the students wrote denunciations against her for two years. Security forces several times refused to initiate criminal proceedings against him.
