Spain resumed imports of Russian iron and steel

MOSCOW, June 15 Spain resumed imports of Russian iron and steel in April after a three-month pause, according to an analysis of data from the European Statistical Service.
Madrid stopped regular purchases of this metal from Moscow in December 2023 and kept a pause until April. In mid-spring, purchases resumed — 21.3 thousand tons of these metals worth eight million euros were imported.

In addition, the country sharply increased purchases of aluminum — by one and a half times, to 13 million euros, and also increased the import of titanium from Russia by 1.9 times — to one and a half million euros.

In general, mutual trade between the two countries decreased in April by 14% — to 248 million euros, of which 177.2 million were from Russian exports, and 70.8 million from Spanish.
