MOSCOW, June 17 The Chinese experience in designing complex structures such as bridges and tunnels can be useful for the development of the Russian transport construction sector, said HSE professor Mikhail Blinkin.
“»In terms of technology for designing complex structures — bridges, tunnels — the Chinese have more experience than the rest of the world, so this can be useful for our country,» he said.
Blinkin also noted that cooperation between Russia and China is useful because the latter has “gigantic” experience and capabilities in design, production and construction organization. “The Chinese can replace Western equipment for us in many positions in the domestic transport engineering industry, in many positions in transport construction, because special equipment for it was purchased in Sweden, Germany, Japan, and now there will be nothing except Chinese replacement in the coming years,” added professor.
Project manager at the company «STEP. Transport Solutions» Alexey Marchuk said that the experience of developing comparable and larger Chinese cities may be of interest to the Moscow authorities, especially in the field of introducing electric public and personal transport, as well as experience in landscaping the city, in particular landscaping along transport routes.
Earlier on Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, during a working visit to the capital of China, discussed plans for further cooperation within the framework of a new cooperation program between the two capitals with the Secretary of the Beijing City Committee of the Communist Party of China Yin Li.
As Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel, last year the volume of mutual trade between Russia and China increased by almost a quarter compared to 2022. Moscow accounted for more than 40% of the total trade turnover between the countries. He also noted the pace of restoration of the tourist flow from China to Moscow: in 2023, over 244 thousand Chinese tourists visited the Russian capital — almost five and a half times more than in 2022.
«Chinese partners help us develop urban infrastructure — primarily in construction metro. Since last year, we and Beijing have been developing the UrbanTransportData project — an international analytical platform for collecting, analyzing, visualizing and publishing transport indicators of the largest megacities. Healthcare remains an important area. In particular, the exchange of experience between the heads of Moscow hospitals and leading specialists of Chinese clinics is expanding. in the cultural and educational spheres, including in-depth study of the Chinese language in Moscow schools,” added the mayor of Moscow.
